COME BE A VOLUNTEER AT THE POSITIVE PLACE FOR KIDS!

Do you have smiles and energy to share?
Do you have a special interest that you’d love to teach to others?
Are you looking to plan a special activity for children with your group?
Would you like to make a positive influence in the lives of children?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, we’d love to welcome you to our Clubs as a volunteer! There are many volunteer opportunities that can be tailored to the specific skills and talents of the volunteer and to the needs of the organization.

In order to volunteer your time at a Club or the Corporate Office, please follow these steps:

For Individual and Student Community Service Opportunities
• Go to the Locations page on this site and find the location where you would like to volunteer.
• Please call that location and talk to the Service Director or Manager about opportunities to volunteer. Once they accept you as a volunteer, they will contact us to set up an appointment for background checks and fingerprinting.  PLEASE NOTE:  All volunteers must pay $35 to cover the cost of background checks; which is payable by cash or check at your appointment. 
• Once you are cleared through our background check process, the Service Director or Manager will arrange a time for you to begin your volunteer experience.

For Corporate and Group Opportunities

VOLUNTEER IN A CLUB OR OFFICE LOCATION

Individual Opportunities
Activities can be one-time events or ongoing relationships including:
• Mentoring, tutoring
• Sports coaching, refereeing
• Instructing visual arts, performing arts
• Annual art exhibit setup, judging
• Chaperoning a trip, event
• Advising Keystone Club

Group Opportunities
We can help customize an opportunity for your corporate group.
• Running a Field Day, Career Day, Club Olympics
• Conducting a Health or Education Fair
• Participating in the RDV Corporate Run or Outback Distance Classic
• Hosting a Club Carnival
• Throwing a party (holiday, birthday)
• Facilities maintenance – landscaping, painting, etc.

Additional Opportunities
Do you have a special skill or expertise that you would like to share with us?
• Administration -Clerical, website, fundraising, marketing
• In-Service Training for BGCCF staff - Can you or your company provide training for our staff at a reduced cost or no cost?

VOLUNTEER TO SATISFY COMMUNITY SERVICE OR SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS

College Students
Individuals that need volunteer hours to meet class or graduation requirements .
Activities include:
• Mentoring, tutoring
• Sports coaching, refereeing

High School Students
Individuals that need volunteer hours to meet class or graduation requirements.
Activities include:
• Mentoring, tutoring
• Sports instruction
• Instructing visual arts, performing arts
• Annual art exhibit setup, judging

Volunteers under the age of 18 will be required to become Club Members at the Club where they would like to volunteer. Acceptance of a project will be subject to the needs of the Club Director.

Court-Ordered Community Service
Individuals that have been referred to our organization to satisfy court-ordered community service may be accepted only if they are under the age of 18.

Please note the following:
• This is only for individuals under 18-years-old
• Individual must become a Club member ($15 fee + application)
• Club Director must agree to host and have a meaningful experience available for the individual.
• Criminal records including illegal drug offenses, violence, violence against children, sex offenses and weapons charges will not be accepted. Criminal records will be assessed on a case by case basis.

PLEASE NOTE:
Volunteers are required to undergo a full fingerprint based background check through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and FBI including a Sexual Offender database search.   Criminal records including illegal drug offenses, violence, violence against children, sex offenses and weapons charges will not be accepted.  Criminal records will be assessed on a case by case basis.  
You will be asked to complete a Volunteer Application and release form when you arrive for your appointment.
