DISNEY EXEC EMBODIES HIS EMPLOYER’S SERVICE TO CHILDREN
A Celebrate the Children Platinum Partner Profile
If you’re looking for a corporate partner in Central Florida, you can’t do better than Disney. And if you’re looking for a committed Disney executive to serve, it’s hard to beat Trevor Larsen, Senior Vice President, Facilities & Operations Services, U.S. Parks.
Disney has a long history of supporting Boys & Girls Clubs – both on the national and regional level. And while the company maintains a special relationship with the Club in Pine Hills that bears its name – the Walt Disney World Clubhouse—Disney gives generously, both financially and through volunteer support, to benefit all of our Clubs in Central Florida.
For his part, Trevor Larsen has served on the BGCCF Board since 2014. Before attending a meeting at the Disney Club in 2013, he was only somewhat familiar with the organization, but taking the Club tour and meeting impressive young Club members inspired him to board service.
Larsen remembers thinking, “If you can take someone in their formative years, and change the course of their life for the better—that’s an amazing mission to be a part of.”
His love for children born in disadvantaged circumstances is personal. In 2001, Trevor and his wife, who have four biological children, became foster parents to a string of children from dire family situations. Ultimately they would adopt 11-month old Alexis, now 15, who has had a very different life and opportunities available to her than she would have otherwise.
Through his service to BGCCF, Trevor is committed to similarly improving the prospects of thousands of other Central Florida children.
“Boys and Girls Clubs gives disadvantaged children an opportunity to change their stars,” says Larsen. “Hardship builds tenacity, so these children have terrific potential if they’re given a chance.”
Disney is a Platinum Partner for Celebrate the Children 2017, BGCCF’s annual gala dinner and auction. CTC will take place on April 28 at the Orlando World Center Marriott. For more information on partnership opportunities, contact Pamela Sible at firstname.lastname@example.org or (407) 841-6855.
