Gary Cain
President & Chief Executive Officer
As a proud alumnus and 42-year employee of Boys & Girls Clubs, Gary Cain is both an apostle for and a product of his organization. Cain’s involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs began at the impressionable age of 11 at his childhood Club in Panama City, Florida. After college, Cain began his career with the organization, serving as a Program Director in Tennessee, and then as the assistant regional director of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Pacific Region, where he opened 23 new Clubs. He became President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in 1994, a tenure marked by significant organizational growth. BGCCF operates 35 Clubs in seven counties, and serves more than 15,000 children annually. Cain holds an MBA from Rollins College. He and his wife Louise have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Mack Reid

Officer
Mack Reid
Chief Operations Officer
“If a youth has the desire, grit and determination to work hard in life then the Boys & Girls Club can be the conduit to help provide the hope and opportunity they will need to succeed.”
Mack began his career with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in 1998 as a Program Assistant. Upon graduating from UCF with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mack obtained a Program Director role at the Taft Branch. Subsequently, Mack has served youth here in the Central Florida community in a variety of different capacities including as Service Director, Area Director, Director of Club Operations and now in his current role of Chief Operations Officer.
Mack is a Club alum from his time as a youth both in Tuscaloosa, AL and Sarasota, FL. His favorite BGCCF program is the Keystone Club because teens learn the value and importance of giving back to their community. Mack feels the coolest thing he has seen since joining BGCCF is witnessing the many opportunities that our Club members have as a result of participating in this wonderful organization.

Sarah Johnston
Vice President,
Development
Sarah Johnston
Vice President, Development
Sarah began her career in the field of development in 2002 with the Children’s Home Society of Florida after graduating from the University of Central Florida with her BA in Communications. Go Knights!
Sarah has served in many roles with Boys & Girls Clubs and Central Florida. In 2017, she was given the opportunity to lead the organization’s development efforts as Vice President of Development. In her eyes, her team’s responsibility is to serve as a connector for individuals in the community and their passion for investing in the future of children of promise. Sarah’s favorite part of her role is building relationships with investors and the opportunity to work with Club members on sharing their stories.
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Sarah lives with her family and her two fur-babies, Zeus and Luna. Sarah enjoys music, spending time working in the yard and traveling to international destinations with her friends and family.
Ultimately, she is driven every day by the bravery of the Club members she serves who face and overcome unimaginable obstacles and the success they achieve through the mentors and programming of the Clubs. For her, being able to watch a Club member be the first in their family to walk across a stage, receiving a high school diploma and seeing the pride in the eyes of the child’s parent, keeps her believing that every day is an opportunity to be great.

Vice President,

A natural public servant, Dan knows there is no other more worthy mission to serve in Central Florida than to champion for our at-risk youth. In his spare time, he spends time with his loving wife Suzie, their grandchildren, and every year looks forward to attending his favorite fundraising event, Celebrate the Children.

Kelvin Curry
Director,
Middle School Programs
Kelvin Curry
Director Middle School Programs
“BGCCF is truly the opportunity-equalizer for our youth in Central Florida. Our quality of service to young people from all races, ethnicities and backgrounds, including those from disadvantaged circumstances, is unprecedented.”
Kelvin is the Director of Middle School Programs for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. A native of Southern California, Kelvin received his BS degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kelvin has directed youth and family programs since 1999. His love for the community and for helping others has impacted the lives of countless families. Kelvin’s servanthood leadership has afforded him the opportunity to serve in nonprofit management for over 17 years.
Kelvin’s unique experience of serving youth of all backgrounds and ethnicities spans from his college years as a volunteer mentor for an inner-city afterschool program in Pittsburgh. The vision of serving youth of all backgrounds and ethnicities including those that come from disadvantaged circumstances is what connected Kelvin to joining “The Movement” in 2011. Kelvin is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential and equipping teams to selflessly serve this mission. Kelvin is also an effective public speaker who collaborates with organizations such as, Orange County Government Citizens’ Commission for Children, Orange County Public Schools, and the YMCA on projects, youth initiatives, and national leadership conferences. Lastly, and most importantly, Kelvin is a family man. He loves spending quality family time with his wife, Melanie, and their children.
- Favorite Boys & Girls Club Program: BGCCF After School Zone Mentorship Programs supporting our Passport to Manhood and S.M.A.R.T Girls Initiatives.
- Joined the Movement: 2011
- Personal Goal this Year: To increase our parent involvement enrichment opportunities for our Middle School Clubs.
- Coolest thing I’ve witnessed since starting: I know that many teenagers experience different problems and uncertainty during their middle school years. Youth are often bullied and have a hard time fitting in among their peers. In today’s society, there is an epidemic of juvenile delinquency, teenage drug abuse, and other risky behaviors plaguing our youth. The coolest thing that I have seen is how our BGCCF Family provides a safe and enriching place for all of our Club members to escape the pressures of life and learn viable skills to become productive members of society. It’s so cool to see how our staff and volunteers provide unconditional love, support, and real guidance each day. In fact, the coolest part for me is seeing the outcomes of our Club members developing great character and leadership. It is truly an honor leading teams that help our children receive a road map for success, daily encouragement, and inspiration to overcome the obstacles and challenges of life as they pursue their dreams! If that isn’t cool, I don’t know what is!

Here, she not only found her new home in which to reside, but also her new home for her life’s mission with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. She started in an administrative support capacity with the After School Zone and moved up through the years to her current position as Director of Club Operations.
Ericka currently lives in Winter Park where she can be found plotting her next travel adventure with her darling pup, the Captivating Mr. Huxley.
- When did you join the movement? March 2000
- Favorite BGCCF program? Triple Play Suite
- Coolest thing you’ve witnessed since joining BGCCF? The coolest thing to me is being able to see the progression of our members from when they enter the Club as precocious 6-year-olds and leaving as young adults ready to conquer the world. The cherry on top is that we have numerous staff whose tenures are such that they have helped guide those youth from childhood to adulthood.
