ZAC Camp Teaches Youth Water Safety
Last week, 120 Club members from the Joe R. Lee and East Altamonte Branches participated in the ZAC Water Safety Camp.
They had a great time discovering important aspects of water safety during the program, which combines in-pool swimming lessons, safety classes with first responders and classroom curriculum. By week’s end, Club members were equipped with critical tools to ensure safe swimming, including fundamental stroke training, emergency preparedness and response and basic lifesaving techniques.
Special guest Ambrose “Rowdy” Gaines, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, even stopped by to assist with swimming lessons! He taught participants the ABCDs of water safety – adults, barriers, classes and drains.
Thank you to The ZAC Foundation for visiting BGCCF!
